Work on ICD-10 began in 1983 and was completed in 1992. The code set allows more than 155,000 different codes and permits tracking of many new diagnoses and procedures, a significant expansion on the 17,000 codes available in ICD-9. Adoption was relatively swift in most of the world. Some countries have created their own extensions. For example, Australia introduced their first edition of "ICD-10-AM" in 1998, and Canada introduced "ICD-10-CA" in 2000.

ICD9: 17000 codes.
ICD10: 155,000 codes.

I am interested in ICD-10, i was wondering what agency does certification and how do i get certified?

ICD 10 is The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, and was wondering which legit organization does the certification and how much is the certification test?

I m not sure I understand... in the US anyway, the cert. for ICD10 will not be available until at least late 2012 (with CPC cert. coders being required to take the exam).

How would you outline a clients condition, that is, the diagnosis under World Health Organisation International Classification for Diseases version 10 if they have fractured their neck of femur?

Hip fracture, S72.0. Not sure if this helps.
