how do i make it so that when i open my macbook (or wake it from sleep), it automatically connects to a specified wireless network and i don t have to do it manually?

I bought a new computer and the internet works on it just fine. The problem is when I put the computer into sleep mode and wake it up the computer will not connect to the internet. The only way to get it to connect to the internet is to restart the computer. How do I fix it so it connects to the internet when I take it out of sleep mode?
