Question :

What is most disturbing disorder of childhood and adolescent psychiatry world over ?

can i get any idea either quantitatively (statistical data) or qualitatively about which of the childhood psychiatric disorder is most disturbing in nature: is it autism, mental retardation, emotional problems, child abuse, ADHD, conduct disorder, so on.
Answer :
What do you mean by disturbing ? Disruptive? Frightening? Difficult to deal with? From whose perspective - outsiders, the child s, the parents/family...?
I think all childhood psychiatric disorders are disturbing in some way, particularly for the parents of the children. I worked with autistic children for some time and I saw the terrible amount of stress that the parents go through in trying to connect with them, deal with them, understand them, support them... and yet getting little emotional response in return. I m sure the same can be said for the families of children with other disorders. I remember seeing a documentary about a young girl with schizophrenia - this looked particularly difficult, as sometimes she would succumb to hallucinations or paranoia of sorts and even attack her own parents.

I imagine that many people would consider any disorders that arise from child abuse to be particularly emotionally disturbing or upsetting (child abuse itself is not a disorder). Many children that are abused, particularly sexually, may grow up to have abusive tendencies themselves, perpetuating a negative cycle. Disturbances in the psyche resulting from violence in the home of any kind can be very disturbing to hear about, both because it is hard for many people to imagine such harm to children and because of the psychological difficulties that can arise as a result of the abuse.
Question :

How is this good for raising up children?

"In fact, children reared in homosexual households experience and are exposed to greater health risks than those in heterosexual married households. Homosexual partnerships are significantly more prone to dissolution than heterosexual marriages, with the average homosexual relationship lasting only 2 to 3 years.Children reared in homosexual households are more likely to experience sexual confusion, practice homosexual behavior, and engage in sexual experimentation. Adolescents and young adults who adopt the homosexual lifestyle, like their adult counterparts, are at increased risk of mental health problems, including major depression, anxiety disorder, conduct disorder, substance dependence, and especially suicidal ideation and suicide attempts."

Answer :
The thing is gays often have a highly sexual image. Gay men go around telling people that they have sex in public toilets etc. Then they dress up like complete whores at gay parades. They are not putting across an image of themselves as great future parents. They just whine about penis size and sore bums on here all the time. What message are they sending us?
