Interactive Fitness Holdings has launched the worlds first fitness product to address both physical and cognitive decline in older adults. The CyberCycle is an interactive exercise bike that combines physical activity with engaging virtual environments and motivational features.

A recent study published by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that riding the cybercycle could delay the onset of dementia. ...cybercycling two to three times per week for 3 months, yielded greater cognitive benefit, and perhaps added protection against mild cognitive impairment (MCI), than a similar dose of traditional exercise. 1 A video of the study can be found here: http://youtu.be/sKz0FVIeEFI

In 2010, worldwide dementia cases reached an estimated 35.6 million people at a cost of $ 604 billion. By 2050 it is projected that 115 million people will suffer from dementia, with the cost of caring for Americans alone skyrocketing more than six times to $ 1.08 trillion per year.

For IFH CEO, Bill Stensrud, the fight against dementia is personal. I am a 62 year old senior. My mother died of Alzheimers disease. Delivering the CyberCycle to the senior community may be the most important mission of my life.
